70 YEARS -eST 1955 COME HELP US CELBRATE "1955-2025"

Smethport, PA
The R. R. Rifle Club was founded in the mid to late 1940’s by a group of men (brothers, brothers-in-law, family friends and cousins). They were consummate outdoorsmen with a passion for hunting and fishing. Their first “camp” consisted of two trailers with a wood stove for heating and cooking. They built bunk beds for sleeping and there was an outhouse. According to Alfreda Johnson (wife of Guy Johnson, Sr.) the location was in Cameron County, PA.
By 1955, the club membership had expanded and they purchased a hunting lodge in McKean County, PA (Betula). This group put into motion a legacy for generations to come.
Currently, club membership includes second and third generation descendants of the founders and friends. The longest standing member, Barry Johnson (son of Luther), joined in 1969.
The RRRifle Club is one of the oldest Afro-American Hunting Clubs in Pennsylvania
