     Guy R. Johnson, Jr.

I joined the Rod, Reel and Rifle Club of Chester County officially at age 18, but the fact is the Betula House was purchased in October 1955 when I was six months old, so the club has always been a part of my life. My Father
(founding member) Guy Johnson Sr. rarely went to the Betula house without me. This meant helping to make minor, and sometimes major repairs at the house, working annually at the Famous RR RIFLE CLUB wild game dinner which was our biggest fundraising endeavor and helping with any and everything to do with the club. At age 13, I began to participate in the Deer, Turkey, Bear and small game hunts. I no longer hunt, but I fish every chance I get. The RR Rifle Club ideology and way of life is from a time when people lived off the land so hunting, fishing and gardening were/are essential to provide for family and community. We look forward to expanding our mission to include more holistic programs and practices to support the overall health of the community.
